Detail work · GTA & Hamilton

Deep cleaning for everything a regular clean never touches.

The build-up that happens quietly over months — grout, baseboards, extractor fans, oven interiors, the strip of floor behind the sofa. One long visit, and the whole place resets.

A standard clean maintains a home. A deep clean changes its baseline. The difference is less about effort than reach: we move what can safely be moved, get into the corners and undersides a weekly visit has to skip for time, and work strictly top-down so nothing lands back on a surface we have already finished.

Most people book one deep clean and then hold the result with recurring standard visits, which works out cheaper than repeatedly paying to catch up. It is also the usual starting point when taking over from another cleaner, before guests arrive, or at the turn of a season.

The checklist

What a deep cleaning visit covers

Every visit is worked off this list, so you know what you are buying before anyone arrives.

Kitchen in detail

  • Inside the oven, including racks and door glass
  • Inside the fridge and freezer, shelves removed
  • Inside the microwave, and the dishwasher filter
  • Extractor fan, filter and hood degreased
  • Cabinet fronts and tops degreased
  • Splashback grout scrubbed, and behind the fridge and stove where reachable

Bathrooms in detail

  • Tile and floor grout scrubbed line by line
  • Shower glass descaled and treated for limescale
  • Showerheads, taps and drains descaled
  • Toilet base, hinges and cistern
  • Extractor vent covers removed and cleaned
  • Silicone seals wiped and checked, radiators and towel rails

Everywhere else

  • Baseboards wiped along their full length
  • Door frames, doors, handles and switch plates
  • Light fittings, shades and ceiling fan blades
  • Vents and air returns dusted
  • Window interiors, sills and tracks
  • Behind and under movable furniture

Floors and finishes

  • Carpets vacuumed with an edge tool along all skirting
  • Hard floors washed rather than damp-mopped
  • Stair treads, risers and spindles
  • Upholstery vacuumed, including under the cushions
  • Radiators cleaned front and behind
  • Picture frames, shelves and top surfaces

Who books this service

And, just as usefully, what it does not cover — so nothing comes as a surprise.

  • A first visit before a recurring plan Resets the baseline so ordinary visits can hold it, instead of never quite catching up.
  • Spring cleans and seasonal resets One long session covering the jobs that never make it onto a normal week.
  • Before or after guests and events Timed for the week ahead, including the rooms that only get used when people visit.
  • Homes with pets or allergies Extra attention on soft furnishings, vents, skirting and wherever hair and dust settle.

What this service does not include

  • Carpet shampooing and upholstery wet extraction — see Window and Carpet Cleaning
  • Exterior windows, gutters and outdoor surfaces
  • Construction and renovation dust — see Post-Construction Cleaning
  • Mould remediation, pest treatment and anything structural
  • Clearing clutter or disposing of large items

A deep clean is thorough, not magic. Decades-old grout staining or a scratched finish will look far better but may not look new, and we would rather tell you which is which when we quote than after we have finished.

Questions

Deep Cleaning — common questions

The things people ask before booking this particular service.

How long does a deep clean take?

Considerably longer than a standard visit — often most of a day for a family home, and sometimes a two-person team. The quote states the expected duration up front so you can plan around it, and the price is fixed rather than hourly, so a job that runs long does not cost you more.

How often do I need a deep clean?

Once, if you follow it with recurring standard cleans. On its own, once or twice a year suits most homes. Kitchens that see heavy cooking and bathrooms in hard-water areas benefit from more frequent attention to grout and limescale specifically.

Do you move furniture?

We move what two people can shift safely — sofas, chairs, side tables, and appliances that pull out on their own. Anything heavy, fragile, wall-mounted or plumbed in stays where it is, and we clean up to it rather than risk your floor or our team.

Is a deep clean the right choice before I move out?

If the property is empty, a move-out clean is the better fit — it adds the inside of every cabinet, drawer and closet, which a deep clean of an occupied home does not cover. If you are still living there, a deep clean is the right call.

Will the smell of cleaning products linger?

Not much. We use eco-friendly, low-fragrance products across every service, so rooms are usable again as soon as surfaces are dry. Mention allergies, asthma or sensitive pets and we will adjust what we bring.
